Welcome and an addition to the reading list..

Read through the First $100 thread in my signature. Great stuff for an older 8. You will have to convert the title to pounds... ;)

Many have reported that list provides your first performance increase. One thing that is soon the be added is testing the fuel pump. I just need to find an easy procedure.

Thank you :)

im going to give the MAF a clean when i get home. i get an erratic idle occasionally when the ambient tempratures are high here.

Thanks for all the welcomes :)

i cleaned the MAF last night. Made a difference and the car feels a little crispier on the throttle. now to find some coils!

@ nycgps,

I would settle for a hard one. Right now the options are to go to a track and turn left really really fast, or replace it and see if the car runs better. The Mazda manual is of no use. I have a know bad pump in the carrier, and a known good pump in the car. Do we know what good pressure is at nominal battery voltage and the engine not running? I assume a gauge that will attach the the QD at the pump is available or can easily be had. Is there a QD under the hood as well?
