Hi all~ What's up!

Just joined. :)
My bro just left for his school and his RX8 fell on my hands...
Trying to comparing his car to mine, R32, drove them back and forth on last Friday. At the end of somewhat spirited driving :D , while parking, had to move the 8 just to park my car infront of it. So I turned on the engine, moved back few feets and turned it off...
Next morning.... it didn't start. Thinking about dead battery cuz of the cold temp in the morning, tried to jump start, no luck. Had to tow the car to the dealer but service was closed. Called them on Monday, wondering what's wrong with the car, found out that sparkplugs died becaused I turned the engine off right after turning it on.... Do they use motorcycles' sparkplugs in this car? Similar thing happened to my YZF, when learning it how to drive for the first time... but in a car?
Anyways, dealer didn't have the sparkplugs in stock so I couldn't pick it up on Mon. Called them on Tues., they promised to get car ready by then, found out about dead battery. Again, dealer didn't have the battery for RX8....
It's Wed, today, dealer still didnt have the car ready cuz they couldn't find the battery....
Are sparkplugs and batteries used in 8 rare? so that a MAZDA DEALER couldn't located any for three days?
Anyways, just wanted to say hi and what a great fun car 8 is... and shitty mazda services... just like f#$%ing VW services...

The 8 should be warmed up before shutting it off. The rotary needs this or it floods as many have had the experience. There is a "flood" start up procedure in the manual. Dealer could not find the batter? LOL that's pretty funny. Show them the manual. Really if the Mazda dealer can't find the battery I would doubt their ability a lot. The car is under warranty. Good luck with this beauty. You told your bro yet?

LOL, yes I told him what happened. Not very happy with it, but what can he do? he's miles away from home and his 8 :D
Doesn't 8's come with loaner's car program?

Gosh...sorry to hear that but listen to Tayninh...the RX8 takes a little bit, just a little bit of care...before the M flash at least, to start and stop it.

That dealer is an example of everything wrong with a dealership...stear clear in the future

That dealer is retarded. The plugs didn't die- they are likely fouled from you flooding the motor, but they can be cleaned and replaced and the engine is de-flooded. Rotary plugs are different than normal cars, and quite expensive... but I'm amazed a Mazda dealer wouldn't stock them.

How do you like your R32? That's a fast little bastard...:)

Yeah... that surprised me, too... a dealer that doesnt have sparkplugs nor batteries in stock!
How do I like my R32?... haha I love it! Fun factor decreased after swapping F1s to winter tires, but still my daily driving car.
I just can't get grin off my face whenever I turn her on and listen to the sweet VR6 exhaust sound. :p

Cool... And don't think of it as winter, think of it as "drifting season" :).

:) Looking into that, too.
But no snow here yet and I already put 1000miles on my new M3s!!!!!! wasting threads for nothing... :(
Does anybody know how long Dunlop M3s last? was hoping I could use these for next winter, too.

Dunno about the M3's, but my M2's have 6500mi from last winter, and they still look new. I figured to use them for 3 seasons... so far so good.

(Un)fortunately the 8 is full of little eccentricities (such as flooding) which add to its uniqueness and charm. :)
