Help switch to rx8

Hey guys, first time on forums iv been searching and reading around and i really like the rx8. I currently have a rsx Auto and now going to switch for either the type s rsx or the 6mt rx8... im gonna to have to go with the rx8 but i had a few questions if you guys can clear it up for me ... yes ive been reading bout the bad gas mileage but thats not my concern i wanted to know how often is it the engine has alot of maniteance problems or the engine dies out? since im going to buy a used rx8 i dont want to end up buying an rx8 that the engine will die a 60,000 miles or etc... also hows the speed and accell of the rx8? any other info would be grateful..thanks for helping the newbie

you are better off taking a test drive to see if it actually is the car for you as far as acceleration and speed

agreed, you need to take each of the cars you are considering for a test drive as well a read up on them. that'll make your decision MUCH easier :)

And go to a local club meet.

it depends on how much u know about taking care of the rotary on how long it last if u never check the oil and just "put" around town yes it prob won't last long but with proper maintenance 170,000+ is capable(i believe that's about the highest mileage that i know of on the 8)

The rotary is not complicated to understand or care for. Check oil and make sure you rev it up from time to time.
