Help with splash guards

Anyone know how the splash guards are installed? Screws? Clips? Tape? Glue? I'm guessing screws which would mean drilling into the wheel well, right?

Thanks for any help....

I just put them on mine. Both are screw on. The front however requires some very minor cutting of the rubber rock gaurd on the bottom of the edges (it clips off and back on to do, you don't cut it on the car). Less than an hour for both...looks good and clean.

Thanks Phlash69, that's kinda what I figured....

The instructions are very thorough and complete. It's not complicated to install at all. Just make sure you clean the areas really well before installing the guards.

"The front however requires some very minor cutting of the rubber rock gaurd on the bottom of the edges (it clips off and back on to do, you don't cut it on the car). "

So, does that mean once you install them you cannot remove them without replacing the rubber piece? (Just curious as my 8 came with the splash guards, even though I did not order it with them).

You dont really need that rubber piece. It's just a small piece cut off, about 5x2" in size (for mine). I didnt cut it like the instruction said, I just cut it enough so the guards fit there. The instructions' measurement for the cut was too big IMO.

Any pictures, just curious to see what it looks like. Thanks.

I too only cut off what was needed to clear the guard. It' wouldn't hurt for that small section to be missing. However the rock guard rubber strip is held in to 5 or 6 1/2 holes in the body by clips on the rock guard itself. Leaving the entire rock guard off probably wouldn't be a good idea unless you close the holes.

As others mentioned, the rubber strip section that was cut off is not that important.

However, I installed my own and there were a few pieces of original hardware the instructions said to discard when you install the mud flaps. You'd need those.

Also, the mud flaps have double sided tape to help told them onto the car - I wonder how hard it would be to pull the flaps off cleanly?
