(help)Question about Shinka
Hi there, Im considering to purchase a rx8 and i checked it online, I saw theres a rx8 shinka edition for sale from a dealer, but the exterior and interior colors are grey and black, cuz i know the colors should be Black Cherry and parchment. maybe the owner would repaint the car, but i dont think someone would change the leather seats to unleather ones.but it has BOSE soundsystem anyway, so how can i know whether its a real shinka edition ot not?thx for help

2005 Shinkas were Black Cherry Mica ONLY.
2006 Shinkas were availible in many colors, including MY Galaxy Grey. Also That Copper red color in 06 was ONLY a Shinka color. quick way to tell if its a Shinka... if it has the "parchment" a.k.a. Alcanterra and its a 2005 or 2006, its prolly a shinka, unless the interior was replaced. also you can look in the tail light housings closely, if those horizontal tabs inside the light are SILVER(paint) its not... if the tabs are very shiny/polished then its a shinka BTW, that is all availible in a GT '07 i believe? last resort, check VIN |
a real shinka has "Shinka" logo on the B pillar. That's the plastic part between the front window and rear window.
|
Interior:
Sand/alcantara leather trim. Piano-black side sill (instead of silver) Piano-black cover on steering wheel control. Exterior: Sinka logo on B-pillar. Dark-chrome rims. Easiest way to find out is enter the VIN number on mazdausa.com's owner link. It'll tell you the original exterior/interior color. If interior isn't sand/alcantara then it's not Sinka. |

Im not sure about the 06 but 05 shinka has
a bit bigger rear shocks (more stable rear) Urtherene filled front cross member. (according to Mazda's *on paper* info, it lowers the body roll by as much as 20%) Certain parts of the frame has been reinforced (you cannot find this info on the US site, but japan you could, its located in couple of areas) |
NoTears316, I love your car.

Right, so what year is the car?
I can't find what colors the 2006 shinkas came in (other than copper red) so I wouldn't know. |

06 Shinkas came in copper red, black, white and gray. All have sand/alcantara interior. I highly doubt anyone changed the interior so they are trying to sell you a base, sport, touring for Shinka money.
|
They lie I tell you! It is not Shinka they sell. Boo to them I say.
