Help me keep the faith

Right now I have my rx8 in the shop everything only problem is that the car will not start on its own without needed A push U cant give it any gas or anything the car will just die I'm waist deep into this car. I'm trying not to throw in the towel I'm just frustrated as hell with this car it had been down longer than I been in it.

RIWWP 01-18-2012 04:15 PM

Do you know why it won't start and are just venting? Or are you asking for help to figure it out?

9krpmrx8 01-18-2012 04:16 PM

Don't you have another thread about it? Troubleshoot man, troubleshoot.

Brettus 01-18-2012 04:18 PM

unfortunately - that is the lot of many people who choose to modify these cars . I do suspect it is much the same for a lot of people who modify other cars as well .

Personally I believe that unless people have either sufficient mechanical aptitude , or very deep pockets , they should leave their cars stock .

sauceyI986 01-18-2012 04:29 PM

I'm just venting really but at this point my time is limited and now and I'll I care about is getting the car running that's about it. Don't get me wrong I love the car but dam it like its like a love hate relationship with this car.

The exhaust sounds nice and deep with my single greddy setup just won't let me take the panties off her to enjoy her. I know people hate this car some love I still love just not being able to drive it.

Lost faith in the car all together or just the fact that you cannot figure out what the problem is?

BTW, the color of your wheels is pretty intense:Eyecrazy:

I think the wheels are the problem. If somebody made me wear shoes that color, I would not start either.

Bad grammar, spelling and punctuation usually bug me, but I usually avoid bringing it up in posts. You really need to work on it a bit. If you want advice, it helps if we don't have to make an effort to understand what you're asking. The quote above is a good example. It wasn't too difficult to understand what you meant, but the line makes it sound like you love not being able to drive it.

At the end of the day, it's kind of up to you to decide how much of a hassle you're willing to put up with before you have to sell the car. Some people will drive a car with constant problems for years while others will put it up for sale at the first sign of trouble. If you could name the specific problem with the car, we could advise on whether it would be more trouble to repair or sell the car, but we don't know the problem.

If you want to keep the faith...change the wheels and the gas lid. lol

i am looking for a mazda shift knob were can i find one at?

Hesselrode 01-20-2012 08:47 AM

I put up with the problems, and just troubleshoot to fix them eventually. A few of us have had numerous engines and a short few of us have had numerous tranny problems. And then there are some common occurences that some of us have had, and we keep on trucking. I have seen several posts of selling my car because... it isn't about keeping faith it is about how much sucking it up you can do. I walked to work for 3 months before I was able to buy a reman engine.

Inside a Mazda...

OP hopefully you can figure out what's wrong with it. It's a damn shame not being able to drive this car.

sauceyI986 01-20-2012 11:13 PM

Keepin the faith.. Shit
Thanks for me being cheap only on on dam part which found out to be the ignition all 4 coil packs were burnt out. This probably could have been the reason why my engine took a shit in the first place and 10grand later.

Well I can say I'm happy now

911SC 01-21-2012 07:05 AM

Again, grammar! I don't know what the hell you're talking about but from what I can discern from this jumbled mess is that you beleive your coils to have been the cause of your problems. If this is so then I may dare to say you deserved it. Plugs/coils/wires are general maintenance on an '8 unless you go BHR. Plus if they were burned out you would know immediately from the car not starting/having rough idle/etc.

Glad you're happy!

Keeping the faith is all about what you intend to do with the car. I agree 100% with Brettus. If you need the car to be a daily driver as it's your only mode of transportation, than you probably should leave it stock. If you intend to modify it like most of us, then you need a mechanic who you can trust and disposable income. I tell most people that the 8 is phenomenal; unless you want a car that is super reliable and won't give you any problems. Not saying that the 8 can't be both, but that's the bullet you have to be willing to bite.
Finally verdict- Be a G and keep the car!
