Help! I breathed in some of the touch-up paint

It says I am going to have brain damage and nerve problems if I breathe some in and I accidentally did today. Should I be worried?

xrider01 05-13-2006 07:25 PM

did you get high off the fumes?

Captain Amazing 05-13-2006 07:25 PM

Not really. My head just kinda feels funny.

no worries...the funny feeling in your head is you having gotten high off the fumes causing some brain cells to die :smoker:. all will return back to normal when the funny feeling in your head is gone

Captain Amazing 05-13-2006 07:37 PM

Damn, I guess I am slightly dumber then before.

NoTears316 05-13-2006 08:11 PM

Thats hot

StealthTL 05-13-2006 08:23 PM

Fumes.....

Short term exposures like that don't usually have lasting effects.

I've been working with Toluene and Benzene for twenty some years. (we make fifty tons an hour!)
Occasionally we get a gutful taking samples or preparing equipment for maintenance. Just a headache or dizziness.

Oh....and seeing the Toluene Fairy, :shocking: and Benzeena, Queen of all the gypsy :boink: pygmys!
but that's only on night shift :evil_laug !!

Yes, it is harmful.

The bad news is that you're already dead.

The good news is that there is internet access in the afterlife.

captain mercury 05-13-2006 09:15 PM

no problem, you have plenty of brain cells. :Peace:
you probably did as much damage as a night of heavy drinking. really.

EyeBall Fixer...(o)(x) 05-13-2006 09:20 PM

If you're worrying about this, you had problems way before you inhaled the fumes...

Have a cigarette and call me in the morning :(

I can understand how you would be concerned. When it comes to critical things that could affect your life, I would worry too. Especially if it could be permanent damage.

I guess how much you inhaled is all that really matters. Hopefully it wasn't a lot.

I would at least wait it out for a day, if you still feel funny next day, I would definitely want to see a doctor.

Hope all goes well!

Here is what my touchup paint bottle said.

See the bold. Unless you were trying to get high off of it like an emo, I would think you are ok!

Tamas 05-14-2006 01:32 AM

I think you'll die.

There's no escape... resistance is futile.

yiksing 05-14-2006 01:44 AM

Haha everyone will die anyway

Yeah, but Capt. will die soon and from touch-up paint.

Captain Amazing 05-14-2006 02:50 AM

Sigh.... What an uncool way to die. :( I was hoping I would atleast be shot or hit by a car but touch-up paint?

xrider01 05-14-2006 02:56 AM

hey, at least you're not being eaten from the inside out :)

MazdaManiac 05-14-2006 04:04 AM

When I read the subject, I thought he had literally taken some liquid paint up the nose.
Hell, I taste the stuff from time to time to make sure it is fresh. :smoker:

Yeah, you are on the cancer super-highway. Especially benzene.:aroused:

BTW, can you send me some xylene on your way out one morning? I can't find it for less than $11 a gallon these days...
