HELP Electronics going haywire, car wont start
I have an aftermarket alarm fitted, I tried to start the car and it went off, so I locked, unlocked and tried again, the alarm sounded like it was dieing, the interior lights were dimming and everything went a bit haywire!
Any ideas, how do i turn the immobilisor off? battery? help! |
FIrst thing to do is test your battery and alternator. When you test, make sure they are under load. If you don't know how to do it yourself, then take it to a local shop.

I really dont get it, what an aftermarket alarm will do for a car with immobilizer pre-installed.
I mean if someone going to jack your shit, nothing going to save it. |
Second question, when did this problem start? Right after the alarm install or some time after?
|
I don't get why the guy puts up the thread, then bounces offline? :dunno:
|
cuz they are not dedicated rotor heads.

nycgps scared em.. as usual.

^+1 this is why we can't take nycgps to nice places :icon_no2:

Sorry, I live on the other side of the world, Aus.... I agree, I bought the car with the aftermarket alarm fitted, never wanted it, no one pays attention to car alarms anyway.
I will test the battery once I find out how (cant take it to a mechanic cos it wont start!) Car has been running fine but the alarm goes off by itself once in a while so it may be shorting something, the interior lights come on but are dimming so a bit weird. Is there a way to disconnect the immobilisor? I dont really want to have it towed from an underground car park. |
