The RX8 isn't much different than any other car in checking for problems. I'd, personally, get a compression check to make sure, make sure the interior is in good standing, and there aren't any large stains everywhere.

Get a Carfax to make sure the car hasn't been through an accident, and if it was, find out what was done to it in order of repairs.

is there not like normal problems with them that i should look for. IE if your buying a civic or integra you always look at the wheel wells for rust starting and how much oil is in the motor cuz we all know they burn oil. so are there any normal things to look for.

I've not seen any sort of problems that are on RX-8's mostly...

*Like for the RX-7, the Idiot Light cluster would have fits, as would the wiper/headlight switch relays due to the bad cold soldering, or the horn as well...*

Just check the compression and make sure they do routine oil changes and don't let the engine run out.

The ONLY serious longterm unsolved problem I know of is the poor connection to the steering motor, at the top of the radiator. Easily replaced under by the dealer if it happens, and easy to solder if out of warranty.

I've had many (many many) cars that used a LOT more oil than my '8.

No PROBLEMS just be sure not to shut it down when it'snot warm, check oil, and a redline a day keeps the carbon away....(which is never a problem for me)
