Heater stuck in roast mode Help

Is there by chance an easy fix for this or do I have to resort to taking it to the dealer? No matter what position I put the temp knob in I get nothing by blasts of hot air out of the vents. This is not fun on a warm Spring day.

Thanks for any help you might offer.

Easy fix. Took me about 1-2 hours, most of the time figuring out how to get the unit out. Pull it apart, solder 3 pieces and your done.

Don't be fooled by the thread title, mine was blasting hot air too.

I wouldn't call it 1-2-3 easy, but it's certainly not that hard. I bought a battery-powered soldering tool at home depot for about $14. It doesn't take much solder, either. That DIY (the link) is near perfect. I just followed it a couple of days ago. Wish I had done it earlier. Mine was blowing cold, and we had a record winter down here.

yeah, you can def fix it, but getting the unit OUT OF the car is a huge pita, esp that one gd bolt!! also, take your time once you get it out...i almost ripped out a piece b/c i pull the wire the wrong way...anyway it's do-able.

if you don't want to deal with soldering, buying a whole new piece will run a couple hundred bucks, fyi.

Thanks for the great help guys. Since I posted I found out that I actually still have a warranty and am going to let the dealer fix it this time.
