If you have the leather seats it has heated driver and passenger seats. If you have cloth their is no heat.

Based on experience they seem to get hotter when it's colder outside.

We had a mild "cold snap" down here in FL and the difference was noticable from the first time I tried them on a warm night to when I tried them on a cool morning.

you don't think it always just warms them to say 80 degrees or something? Therefore it doesn't feel that warm when the ambient is 70, but when its 30 its going to feel really warm?

Great question. I contemplated that. I spent some time fiddling with the A/C, putting Windows up....basically making the car pretty cold inside (while it was hot outside).

It didn't seem to make the seats want to go any warmer. I kind of gave up and figured oh well what do I need seat warmers for anyway.

then the other day when it got cold for a few days (cold being like 65 degrees, mind you - I'm in Miami) I popped them on and they were nice and toasty.

I'm pretty sure it responds to the ambient temp reading. When I pull out of my garage, the ambient temp is artificially inflated for the first few minutes of my drive (mid to upper 40's), and I can't feel the seat heaters doing anything... and then bam, they kick in, especially when the temp drops towards zero or lower. There seems to be a direct correlation between the rapidly dropping ambient reading and the increasing heat output of the seats. On the other hand, on "warmer" mornings (30s+), they seem to warm up much slower.

my seats may be warmer than i think now that the temps have been frigid here in NJ. i found that when i shift my body with a heavy winter coat on and a different part of my back touches the seat back i feel the heat much more. i guess part of my back gets used to the heat but shifting it gives me a comparision and it is indeed very warm but not hot.

Don't worry I know it's kinda funny. Down here you get about 3-5 days out of the year where you'd even think of using heated seats. I'm originally from Chicago so I'm the first to admit 60 degrees is shorts weather.

That said, I'm determined to use those heated seats even if it's only 5 times a year!
