Have You Ever?

Have you ever been driving your 8 on a warm day and the HVAC system did this....thing? I was driving a few weeks ago, and it was a warm day. The AMB temp. reading was at about 91 degrees. There was warm air coming from the vents, but the A/C was off. I know that as you drive, you can set the HVAC to pump in outside air, but that depends on the speed that you are going, right? The faster you go, the more air comes through the vents. Well the amount of air that came through my vents was like the amount of air that comes through when you have the HVAC set on the lowest setting "1" I didn't understand that. Even when I made a complete stop, air was still coming through. A few minutes later, the air stopped coming through, like nothing ever happened. What gives? Has this happened to ya'll? :Wconfused

Well not this exactly but even if I have the fan setting set to 0 I can still feel a little bit of air. When driving around the temp setting still effects the car. We have few days here where it's 90 degrees plus, so I don't know if that has somethign to do with it or not.

set it to recirculate and it'll go away.

I also noticed that the cooling fans were really pumping that day. I know rotaries get very hot, but it stinks if that's one of the ways the engine cools itself is to pump access heat into cabin and bake it's occupants. I know it's going to happen again.

When I drvie fast you can feel it like its set to 1. I have my ac off and set to cool so I dont get that hot air. I dont set it to recirculate. I have it set so the air flows in.

It shouldnt be pumping heat back into the cabing, but if its that hot out, I would imagine the temp of the engine would be hot enough to radiate heat into the incoming air. if that makes sense.

You didn't happen to have your sunroof tilted did you? That might be the reason that it was blowing so hard.

Yes if you have the outside air / vent open and a window, sunroof open, cracked and it will suck more air in as if the ac was on. maybe that was it.

If you have the sunroof open at all, it opens the floor vent.
