Hanging clothes?!

I apologize if this has already been addressed, I searched and found nothing.

I have faced the situation where I need to hang clothes (jacket, dry cleaning, or pressed clothes on a trip) in the 8, but have no where to hang them. Most of the time I am able to get away with laying them flat in the trunk, but sometimes I've got stuff in there.

Does anyone have a good solution to this problem??

I say do a full interior roll cage setup :) then you have tons of bars to hang clothes from

just put a suction cup hook somewhere on the top of the back windshield and hang there.

or rear side windows if you concerned about visibility

i've used the front passenger seat handle bar to hang them, but that's only if you don't have a front passenter! and it affects visibility obviously so you have to be extra careful.

suction cup not on rear door windows might work! but yeah i've had that nuisance before too!

when I pick up my dry cleaning, I usually hang it using the passenger seat handle.
If I only have a suit jacked with me, then I will lay it across the seat behind me and onto the center console. It stays fairly wrinkle free that way.

I've seen a bar to be used as a camera mount on the forum. I think it attaches to the headrests. Might be a pain for what you're looking for, I guess it depends how much dry cleaning you have.

yale02 11-23-2010 08:37 PM

If I only have a bit of dry cleaning I hang it off the handle of the trunk pass through.

elysium19 11-23-2010 08:47 PM

This takes 3 seconds and works great, if you don't have a front passenger:

Recline front seat back most of the way.
Hanger #1 (empty): pass the small loop through the triangle-shaped hole in the passenger seat, from back to front.
Hanger #2 (and multiple other hangers, with clothes on them): hang the hooks through the end of hanger #1!! The clothes will hang at a modest angle and won't wrinkle, even though they will be mostly laying on the seat

Put an empty box in one of the rear seats to make it level with the center console and lay the clothes flat.

Do what I did
Change your entire wardrobe so you don't need to hang anything up and don't need to dry clean anything....
You'll save money to buy mods and gas!

own a second car for when your RX8 breaks down that has a clothing hanging spot on it.

Razz1 11-24-2010 08:30 PM

Yep the second car is for errands
