Long time track junkie here. I currently own a 2002 BMW M3 coupe and I track it as often as I can.

I was at a Road Atlanta event earlier this year and was very impressed with the handling of an RX-8 that a bud of mine was driving. Although, he went off just before the bridge at T12 and bent a suspension component, the car was amazing. At one point, he passed me and kept on going. (Please note- My friend is an amazing driver, he could probably do this in a Toyota Yaris)...I talked with him at length about the RX-8.

So...my question to you folks...particluarly the Track Junkies.

Reliability? Performance for the dollar? My M3 can be VERY pricey for parts, etc. (example: Brake rotors average between $250-400 a corner). How does this compare with the RX-8? I am more curious about how robust the drivetrain is. I like the versatility of the car as well as the performance but I'd like to hear from some road course folks about their experience.

have you checked out the racing section of the forums? there's tons of information there that might help you out, plus the track junkies normally go there first hehe.

I would help, but i have limited experience on the track with the 8, but i can tell you one thing, its a hell lot of fun!
