Great tool for trans and diff plugs
Low-profile 24mm socket:
Used this for my 90k maintenance. It's so shallow that I could easily get any kind of socket wrench on any of the fill/drain plugs on the trans and diff. No more fiddling with box wrenches! FWIW. |
You hit the nail on the head. I won't use a wrench on a drain plug unless there is no other option due to clearance issues. Too much of a chance to round the drain plug.

I can't remember how I got at the plugs when I changed trans and diff fluid. Why won't a regular 24mm socket fit?

Am I missing something? I just use a standard 24mm socket. For the diff, I think I just used a 24mm socket and a short extension to get through the diff carrier.

I like the low profile socket better because you can get right on the bolt. It's much less fiddly and there's no chance of weird angles. |
