So I got the call today from my dealer that Ive been playing hardball with for the last two weeks, and tomorrow afternoon, I take delevery of this.

no but it runs and starts like the brand new one i test drove first. Its impecable. im taking it to the dealership this week to get it tested. but I know it will come back fine... I say I didnt get one done because I asked that it be taken to a dealership and tested before it come to me and they said they did it... but like i said it starts and runs absouloutely mint just like the brand new one i was looking at orignaly

Turbo timer?

Usually used to let a turbocharged car cool down after driving around. It's mostly focused on preventing heat from soaking in particular areas, such as the turbos.

I'm not sure why you would choose to install one to prevent flooding. The issue with the RX-8's flooding is not letting it warm up enough. It seems like a lot more effort to have a turbo timer installed than to sit and let the car warm up the few times you're just making a short move. Any other time, the car should be plenty warm from driving around.

If it's a manual, I'd usually recommend not using the turbo timer since it's generally a good idea to leave the car in gear while parked.

Agree, the flooding issue is mainly these days due to bad batteries, poor ignition components or dirty fuel injectors.
There was a ecu flash about 5 yrs ago that would have taken care of any un-addressed problems with flooding.

Congrats. I'd still ask for a compression check even if it runs and starts just fine.

I think that was the whole point of the owner of the car that installed it.
If they just needed to move the car out of the driveway to get another car out of the garage, for instance, they can do so without having to sit there and wait x minutes for the car to have warmed up enough before turning it off.

I think its an ingenious idea, and if you have the type of lifestyle that supports this, and the need, why the heck not?
