I've been punching my driver side door all morning and it's not working. I guess I just dont know how to do it properly!

I've only taken it to work twice, and I never use it to go anywhere. It's my sunday driving car.

Speaking of which, I'm late for an appointment with some back roads....

My garage is gated so they will have to deal with a 92lb German Shepard if they want anything out of my car. My parking space at work is also gated with cameras. At the store and such places I am shit out of luck. BUt when we go out I never take my car so......

Welcome and sorry to hear about the situation. I had my old Civic broken into three times and stolen once. They actually cut the engine out with a plasma cutter! That was when I lived in apartments though.

Only works if you yell out "BUMP!!!" as you do it.. its the sound effect that does it.

Hey if your car gets targeted than so be it, nothing you or any alarm is gonna do to stop it (unless your car has been bullit proofed)

The major thing that sucks about this is if people hear the report and happen to be walking by your car who would never think about breaking into a vehicle any other time, suddenly decide to try it to see if it works mainly for their curiosity.

^^ Yeah so let's keep bumping up this thread in order to ensure that visitors to this site will notice it and will tell their friends. :naughty:

I'm going to put a sticker in my windows that says something like "This car has been modified by Mazda to remedy Mazda3 bug. Please do not kick me."

LMAO

Any car can be broken into easily. Whether they have a slim jim, a brick to throw through the window, or even a flippin tow truck, any car can be taken in less than 5 minuets. This just makes it easier. Better have full coverage insurance!

Maybe we could hook up an extra car battery so that anyone who touches our cars get a shocking surprise :mdrmed:

Wait, what am I thinking!?! Let's publicize this as loudly as possible! I know—maybe someone can attach a chart indicating precisely where—and with how much force—to hit the door!!! Or better yet, let's make a video of someone doing it and send it into Dateline!

Honestly, people. God forbid someone can read the numbers on your precious license plate in a photo, but this? This is OK.

LMAO!! f8ckin hysterical!

Given the recent history of Mazda the fact that you're insinuating people are overreacting is ridiculous.

Mazda's recent history. Hmmm. Sounds like Mazda has already corrected the issue at the production level, as well as figured out a fix for the problem retroactively. Asking for much more is what I would consider ridiculous. Newsflash - there are a-holes out there that will break into your car. While this particular "method" is disturbing, it's just one of many methods. If this new method is that disturbing, it seems like we have the option of researching the "fix", contacting our dealership, and *gasp* being prepared to pay for said fix.

Oh, and Mazda did a voluntary recall in order to identify & correct the engine issues for the rx8. So, um, yeah, the sky is falling.
