A good deal?

Okay, I'm new on here and this will be my first post. I'm interested in buying a rx8 and found one which I believe is a steal. It's a 05 with 59,000 miles but I could get it for 7,500-8,000. There's nothing wrong with the car visually, the only reason it's so cheap is because it's a repo that was turned in because the owner(a mechanic) couldn't make payments. I'll be taking it to a mazda dealership to get it looked at before I buy it. I read over in detail the sticky about buying a rx8, but to make me feel better I wanted first hand help from you guys. I want to know;
Is this a good deal?
And if at all possible could somebody give me a summary of what I should know most before buying a rx8?

Compression is the big one I've been reading about. Make sure it's good so you know the motor is not shot. Plan on needing a new one down the road since it is a series I. Jury is still out on Series II models. Fuel consumption is pretty high. I have gotten anywhere from about 100 miles on 3/4 of a tank to as much as 200ish miles. All depends on how you drive and if you are on the highway. The rest is all in the stickies. Read them all and make a choice. That's what I did and I don't regret it yet. So far I love my new 8, despite fuel consumption.

Also, find out if any TSB's have been performed. You can find out by calling MNAO with the VIN of the car

If you could ask for a carfax. You will see history reports about accidents and such...just sayin', its really up to you though.
