Good Deal?

I recently purchased an 2004 Rx-8 GT, and i happened to be on ebay trying to find a good used exhaust system, since i wasnt able to really find one in the for sale forum, and i happened to stumble across this header & midpipe combo i ended up bidding on it and won the auction, the winning bid was $57.99 and shipping is $45.00 so the total comes out too $102.99, here is a link to the auction:

so tell me what you guys think, a good deal or not?

This part made me laugh..

Winning bid: US $57.99

Buy It Now price: US $400.00

On a serious note, he just says it's "Custom" Did he build it himself? Why the **** is it so cheap? I don't know, without being able to hear it and see it on the car, I wouldn't buy it.

Good luck, though. Get some sound bites up whenever you get her installed!

you paid money for that piece of junk?
I wouldn't trust some headers that somebody 'custom' built in his garage. Many top aftermarket companies have tried to make headers for our cars and some of them are just NOW bringing them to the market (after much R&D)

haha well at least somebody else is a little optimistic about it, he told me its professionally done, and i requested the dyno's im sure they are "lost" or somthing, and i asked his reason for selling, but for a $100 you cant really go wrong i dont think..

it's one big a$$ piece of slag... there are quite a few things that can go wrong... plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Also I am not sure how that setup is going to suppress a CEL being thrown.

the spark plug fouler moves the O2 sensor out of the direct flow of the exhaust. This keeps the O2 heated so it does not throw a code while it always picks up less of the exhaust which tricks it into thinking there is still a cat in place.

When i used to do custom turbo builds on Spec V's i often used this trick along with several other ways.

well worst comes to worst the midpipe is still worth the price if the manifold looks bad or doesn't do well just keep the midpipe on and buy a different set of headers if u are looking for headers!

looks like the stock header to me with an effed up midpipe welded on to it.
in conclusion: rip-off.
