Is this a good deal?
Hey so I think I'm gonna buy this Rx8. Anyone who could say if this is a good deal?
2005 MAZDA RX8 $19,590 Mileage: 23,068 Miles Transmission: Automatic Engine: R Cylinders 1.3L Drive Type: N/A Body: Coupe Interior: GRAY Exterior: BLACK Navigation System Power Moonroof Leather Seats Air Conditioning Power Windows Power Locks Power Driver Seat Tilt Wheel Cruise Control Premium Sound System Compact Disc Changer AM/FM Radio Alloy Wheels Anti-Lock Brakes Traction Control Dual Air Bags Side Airbags Spoiler Heated Seats Power Steering Power Brakes Power Mirrors Intermittent Wipers Rear Defroster Center Console Tachometer Vanity Mirrors And one other question, will I need to use premium gas with this car? |
it sounds like a good deal to me, except its automatic, if your into that sort of thing. And mazda recommends premium
|
Price seems a bit steep, especially for an auto. I think new leftover 07's were going for under $25k recently. Premium is recommended by Mazda so I would strongly suggest it. Not much more money in the long or short run. Also keep in mind the Auto in '05 has significantly less power than the 6MT.
|
I recommend going with a 2006 or newer automatic. The 2004-2005 automatics are only 4 speed and the power train is not as powerful.
The 2006 and newer are 6 speed automatic with a more powerful engine. :) |
Check this price for a few comparable sale prices: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...at+did+you+pay

not a good deal. maybe if they knock 2.5k off the price tag. out the door too.
$17k out the door would be pretty nice. |
Yeah, price is steep.
|
only problem is automatic
|
If u must have AT, do as others have said and get an 06. You should be able to find one in that price range, just look harder and dont be afraid to give lowball offers, they may surprise you on what they will sell em for.
|
Definititely too expensive for a low-power 4-port automatic. The MT has a more powerful engine and is more fun to drive.
You should be able to negotiate for a used RX-8 with 10k miles for $16-17k with few options. Use that as a baseline. Don't be afraid to negotiate. If you're a good negotiator, you can usually knock of $4-5k for a used car on dealer's lot. |
what about a 2007 manual without the nav or moonroof 11k miles for $19950?
|
there is currently a new leftover 07 on ebay for buy it now 19,500 silver 6spd sport
