On going power steering issue

Hey Guys,

Howsit?

I been having this on going problem with the Power Steering, but let me tell you the story from the start.

I bought the car just over a month ago and the very next day the power steering light came on, and of course there was no power steering. Later on that day when the engine was cold i didnt the biggest mistake of shuting the engine down when it was cold when i back it in the drive way to work on the car as i had been search the forums about this steering issue and noticed its a common problem. So i cleaned all the two connects and the battery earth following this great diagram below.

After doing all that i noticed i couldnt start the car and had flooded it big time, so first thing monday a tow truck came to collect it. But i still didnt know if what i had done with the connections had worked. Later on that day i collect the car from Mazda and the Power Steering was working mint, so one month went buy and no porblems then i decicede to come back, this time i took it to mazda, it spent a few days there and they then couldnt find the source and replaced the whole steering rack under warranty as it had been replaced two months before i bought it. They where also very kinda to wave the labour on it all which i was please with, so i drove it home went out last night and car was going great. when to start it up this morning power steering aint working and the light is on.....:banghead:

What do you guys think i should do?, try fixing it myself again or tell mazda? i would like to tell them about the connecters but they might not like that in terms of me messen with the car, they really need to look into the harness of the steering and not the rack itself. Anyone else experience a similar situation? My good old RX7 is now having to take the position of the daily runner, however at 300k a tank it aint that cheap to drive...

Cheers guys

i had problems with mine too. replaced twice. don't tell them that you messed with it at all or else the first thing they will say without even looking at it is it's your fault. never feed the dealer any info that could "incriminate you." they'll be the quickest to turn it into your fault.

It's the power steering wiring harness. Do a search in the tech forum and you'll find past discussions on the problem.
