Getting rid of "dings"
 

Well, it looks like someone has already "dinged" my car. It's not a big one, it just looks as like it's a dirt mark, but it isn't. Is there a way to get rid of this or what? It's on my right passanger door side.

There are dent guys who fix this sort of think up with their eyes closed, so I wouldn't worry too much. Cost you $50. If the dent is on the aluminium rear door, that may be another matter. I don't know....

If you are in a area where the mobil dent guys work - use them. Like Comez said they are usually good and not that expensive. I used one for my wife's Dodge intrepid and you could not find where the dent was afterwards and not that expensive.

If you are daring the suction cup thing will work on the right dent. Also using dry ice can cause the metal to shrink enough to pop the dent out. But both these methods are risky on a great car like the 8, so don't waste your time and money (or damage it further).

It's not a dent dent, it's like a "ding" a scratch mark sorta. Not too obvious like I said, looks like a dirt mark, but when I tried to get it off, it wouldn't come off. So very faint little scratch.

Clay bar it, then follow with Meguiar's #7 mirror glaze, then wax. And if there's a dent, THEN you will see it. And then you go to a Dentbuster's paintless dent repair place and have it fixed.

I hate to admit it, but I put the first ding in my car after 4 days. I was home with my wife for Xmas and had ridden in my father's Town Car. The doors on those things swing about 170 degrees and as I was getting out, BAM! I hit my car. I got it in a bad spot, too - right where the rear passenger door meets the rear quarter. The "ding" guy realized that he couldn't go throught the rear window to push it out, so he had to drill a hole in the door jamb and go through there. Afterward, he put a small rubber grommet in the hole and sealed it up. He did a great job for about $70 (and 45 min.) and only I can tell that it's there.

Just wanted to give those of you with rear door dings some hope that they can be repaired without problem.

Sounds right to me. I got some light scratching on my driver's door (as if someone had brushed up against the car), and buffed it virtually all out with some Meguiar's. Great products. Be VERY sparing with touch-up paint and don't use it unless absolutely necessary.
