Gasket Question..

Can you re-use the gasket that goes from the cat to the exhaust pipe? I am installing a new exhaust on Saturday and was just wondering if I had to purchase a new one or re-use the one that is already on there connecting the stock exhaust pipe to the cat...

If I have to buy one, what size gasket is it that I have to ask the car parts store for?

Thanks,

Where are you getting your exhaust from? I replaced my exhaust once and my midpipe twice and all those times, the parts came with new gaskets. I would recommend using a new one.

I got it from borla but they forgot the gaskets for some reason. They will credit me the amout takes to buy it @ Napa etc. I bought the gasket connecting to the muffler already.. just wasn't sure about the cat to the exhaust pipe gasket

my Agency Power exhaust didn't come with a gasket either. most companies just say to re-use the stock one. the only reason you would need another one is if the stock one won't come off or is damaged or if you just want a new one.

You can re-use the back one for a long time...it's like a donut...and doesn't seem to wear out. The front one from the manifold to the cat needs to be replaced or it will leak...it is a compression type and it is wrecked when it is tightened up

The Racing Beat cat-back comes with NO gasket either. Reusing the stock gasket worked just fine.

Alright boys, we will see if I can re-use my gasket. If not it's a trip to NAPA.
