Funniest Thing, True Story
 

Well, I'm sitting in the lobby at the carwash minding my own business. I'm reading the newspaper ocasinally taking sips of my rockstar.
All of the sudden, I catch a glimpse of my car coming off the line and the guy parks it right next to a Black Continental GT and a yellow Ferrari.
Then I catch a couple of gentlemen -who were standing by-walk over to my car and started chatting it up enthusiastically. They quickly check out the profile then walk over to the back, probably looking for badges and wondering what it is. :cwm27: They was a red Evo and a red M3 with a vented hood, yet the 8 is the one stirring people's curiosity..
I'm sure it happens to people all the time, but it had never happened to me with such elite company..Kudos to Mazda for designing such a good looking car...

Seems like every time I goto a fast food, the cashers praise my RX8.
Women/girls like the looks of the car. And since I am a man, that makes me like the car that much more.

I bet EVO's don't get any compliments.

^It's funny, you say that because when I'm driving around I never catch people looking but my GF catches everyone and their mother.

TOO BAD YOU COULDN'T BEAT THE FERRARI IN THE 1/4 MILE AND THAT IT STILL RUNS 13's STOCK AND ON ITS FIRST ENGINE AND TRANS....

JUST CAUSE 2 OLD GUYS LIKED UR CAR DOESN'T MAKE IT BETTER THAN A FERRARI!

At first I was like, where is Norcal, is it like some place in "Canada" and then I realise it could be northern california , "norcal", "socal" whatever.

People like us(living in BB) u know what it is? ..I bet you dont! BB= (bible belt) feel so much out of context with all this abbreviation :confused:

Same thing happens with my car all the time. (And this, in an area with mucho exotic cars.) I still don't find the 8 beautiful in a timeless way (like a Jaguar XKE or the last generation RX-7), but it certainly is stunning—and definitely turns heads!

Evo's look like Riced out Civic to non-car people. Their fast as hell, but still have that cheesy commuter car look.

c41250n, you have to come out to the meets more often, Ever's there most of the time.

I have that happen to me once too. Guy owned a S55 and was more curious about my car and his jaw just dropped when the back door opened up.

My best moment was when I went to go pick up this girl I met and her jaw just dropped with a "whoa...". :D

you know, the funny thing is I never implied that my car was mechanically better or faster than the Ferrari.

The fact that two mature, well-off, car enthusiasts can still appreciate a good looking Mazda makes my day.

Well guys thats swat you get when you have something rare. Unfortunately were I live it has become by far the most popular sports car. Last week in a matter of a few seconds I saw 4 of them! No one gives my baby a second look any more :(

Anyways who cares she still thrills me like she did the first time I drove her :) And thats what matters.

There are only two in my city, and I rarely see any other RX8's.

I feel you Ever, my GF reminds me often that the "chick magnet" package was taken out at the factory.

It's funny since the only people I ever look for when I'm driving are other RX8 owners, anyone else can get out of my way.

the real question is, do u like it more than a ferrari?
