From full to 3/4 tank in 55 miles?
I've had this car for a few weeks and I get the fact that a rotary gets worse mileage than piston engines
(and for the record, I was in a hurry doing 80-90 MPH)..... But does that seem normal? I pulled the MAF when i got home to check it out. The 2 tiny wires that are way up in there looked clean, but the bulb near the bottom was completely crusted over on the side that faces the filter, so i'm going to get some MAF cleaner tomorrow and clean it. Also, the car has 49K miles on it and i have no clue whether or not the plugs/wires/coils have ever been changed, so i'm about to order NGK pluges/wires and will change the coils once the next paycheck comes lol Back to my question tho- a really rough estimate of 4 gallons used means that I got somewhere between 13 and 15 mpg. What do you guys think? |
That's pretty normal considering you are going at those speed.

That is normal. You can hardly tell whether the maf is clean or dirty by looking, go clean it. Replace coils, sparks, and wires while youre at it.

K, thanks for the input

Yup, normal.
