Fuel Comment in the UK Brochure
Guys,
I saw the text (at the bottom of this post) in the UK brochure. Does anyone know the part they mention is? Does the US model have it? and how well it works? Link is also attached. -- THank you!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- To Improve Fuel Economy all European Mazda RX-8 models will be fitted with a small Boot Lip Spoiler. This is not an option. http://www.mazdarx8.co.uk/upclose/specs/specs2.asp |
Yes, if you look at any of the pics from those in the U.K who have taken delivery, there is a small spoiler on the trunk lid (boot lid). It is quite attractive and wish they had done the same in the U.S.
Don't know how much of a fuel saver it would be, though. |
the lip wouldn't help fuel enough to notice
take a poll from uk owners on mpg I'm sure they will confirm |
Yeah, I have a hard time convincing myself that such a small spoiler can affect aerodynamics so much that it improves fuel economy; especially when the general consensus here is that the RX-8 is pretty thirsty even when it's idle.
