Where in MO do you live?
I live in MO also and took my plate off for a while and didnt have any problems but then got a warning about it. So i just used some thin strips of double sided tape and put it in the front windsheild. Its pretty easily visible where i have it and havent had problems for about a year now. |

I live in Missouri also, Warrensburg. I haven't had my front plate on for 6 months now and haven't had a ticket(knock on wood) Although I do get nervous when a cop is sitting across from me at a light because I know he has a clear view of the front of my car for a good amount of time.

I didnt have mine on in VA for almost year but then I got stopped specifically because there was no front plate. I then put it back on with one of those Bell front plate things.
on my second one now and I keep breaking them, this one won't last much longer ;) |

Told the cop that I keep it in the trunk because I didn't know how to mount it and didn't want to drill into anything. Gave me a warning for it and the illegal window tint (12%) that was original from when I got the car from a dealer in St. Louis.

I live in Missouri that requires a front plate, my 8 has always been a Missouri car and has never had a front bracket.
I have been a cop in Missouri and the main reason they require both is people tend to "split plates" using the second plate on another car. I agree, the car looks great without the front one. |
You should get one of these. I have mine sitting on my desk to be installed in the spring. You can get a manual one and a motorized one.

I ordered one of these a long way back and had it installed in the bottom right corner of the front lip. The only thing that I did not like was that the bracket hangs down rather far. So if you have a lowered car like I did a simple speed bump will mangle it like it almost did to mine. In the end it was just a hassle so I took it off and went back with the OEM license plate holder.

$159.00. Not to bad. I do like it, but the 8 is so low that as another poster mentioned, you would probably destroy it in short order.

How much for that mechanical contraption? Putting a flat-blade-like piece of metal on your dash will pose a potential projectile hazard in an event of an accident. You do not need to put it in the front grill. If you are not too affraid of drilling two holes on your bumper, do just what I did as posted below.

I think the manual one is $50, and the motorized one with a 2 key fobs for activation is $150
