Don't give me that responsibility crap either, some people that age are more than capable of handling the blazingly quick rx-8.

What is this, the 15th thread about whether 16 yo should or should not own a car like this? It's the same **** over and over. Mods, just start an entire section dedicated to "underaged" drivers.

when I was 16 I had (bought with my own money) a 1991 rx7 turbo and it was a blast.....topped out at 274kph.....:p
The rx8 is not a sportscar imo.....not yet anyway.....

btw this kid is spoiled rotten but I had some friends in highschool that drove brand new sc400's,m3's and sl500's......I was the poor man...lol

Your not necissarily spoiled just because your parents buy you a $30,000 car. If it was an unexpected surprise and he is grateful for it then I wouldn't go as far as calling him spoiled.

Your spoiled if you expect them to buy you a $30,000 car then bitch because they didn't get you the Nav system.

I don't appreciate people being labeled as spoiled based on one fact. I was an only child growing up and because of that alone people always assumed I was spoiled. I still remember one day in high school the teacher asked a class of 35 kids who had actually paid for their own car and I was the only one to raise my hand. Sure it was an 81 Plymouth Horizon, but I worked and paid for it myself along with everything else.

I remember one girl's dad had bought her a brand new mustang and a few weeks later she was bitching that her dad wouldn't buy her a cell phone now that is spoiled.

I hope your name "future badger" does not mean you will be going to my Alma Mater for college. If so, you really need to work on your writing skills.

Just be careful and be thankful for what you get, My first car at 16 was an RX7, but it was 13 years old when I got it.

hehe i don't know about the future badger, but i use a completely different writing style between anything for work (or that i would have done for school) and an internet forum

anyway futurebadger are you a dude or a chick? just wondering- cause i've never heard of dudes being referred to as "bitches", rich or not, but maybe that's some "new thing" i'm not aware of.

maybe my little sis calls her b/f "bitch" all the time, haha, i don't know?

Ahhh, I see... this requires some recalculating. $30,000 - $5,500 = $24,500 that mom and dad are paying for. Since you mentioned that you'll be making the loan/lease payments for the "3rd year", that indicates the car is financed, so let's tack finance charges on there, as well as gas, insurance, maintenance, and registration --which I'm assuming the 'rents are also covering since you didn't mention them. So: I'll revise the cost of your gift to more like $40,000.

Nope. You're still spoiled rotten. :D Must be nice! Remember, your car needs to have its oil checked every other fill-up, and don't shut the engine off if the car's not completely warmed up.

I'm going with spoiled bitch, but that's just me.

The car is flashy...whethe you are 16 or 56. It doesn't matter. I just hope that you aren't like the rest of the stereotypical 16 year old bitches out there and ride my *** and try to race me from stoplight to stoplight.

If you're 16 and get a nice car like this then good for you. I'm envious. My first car was an 88 Sable that needed power steering fluid everytime I drove it. Just make sure you appreciate it and drive it like you deserve it.

Just and FYI, if you wrote properly, this thread probably never would have turned into a nooblet bash.

Eh, that's debatable...there are a few over in the other thread (the one about not being able to drive stick yet) that are trying to get a bash started, but it doesn't seem to be sticking very well. It could be because he writes correctly, but it doesn't seem to be enough to stop em all.

i think it's cool that this guys' parents are buying/helping/whatever with his new car. who wouldn't have been happy at 16 if that happened to them! besides, being spoiled may have nothing to do with it. who knows, he may come from a family like any of ours, spoiled or not, whose parents said "hey when he turns 16, we should surprise him and get him a really nice car."

or- he's a spoiled bitch all around.... and whooooooooo cares!! :p
