Finally, a Rotary of my own!!
 

Hello All!

I'm proud to say that I'm the new owner of a 2005 VR 6-speed!

It's been a long time coming. I first laid eyes on the '8 at the 2003 NAIAS (My first) when it made its major debut and it was love at first sight. :icon_droo

My dad owned three Rx-7s and always talked about how much he loved them. Since the auto show, I've kept up on my research and everything '8 related.

Around 2 years ago, I decided that I could afford to purchase my own car, and so I started hunting and researching. I made a forum account here (almost 2 years ago to the day) so I could browse the classifieds and research about my potential new car, and searched every auto sale place known to man in search of the perfect car. Lo and behold, in early June this year the timing was right, and the perfect car popped up for sale (Rx-8s are hard to find here in Michigan) less than 2 miles from my house! :crazy:

Needless to say, I bought her right up!

Anyways I'm glad finally be a posting member of the community here, now that I have something worth posting about!

PS. Thanks to all of those who have grown the huge content of information here on the site!

Agreed, VR is the fastest colour, that's what my 2006 tells me.

Seeing as it nearly broke the bank (Rx-8 + School = $$$$$$) the first mods will start to happen over the next six months or so. I'm looking into a couple small appearance things first. Front splash guards, spoiler in the back (Probably stock).

First necessity is going to be some new wheels. The stock ones were curbed a little so I was thinking I'd put winters on those and buy a fresh set to put my summers on. I hate to drive it in winter, but since I am, I'm going to need some winter tires. Although I'm having difficulty finding winters in the stock wheel size.

I was thinking either Motegi SP10, or Kazera KZ-P. I like the clean 10 spoke look.

What do you think of Bronzed wheels on red? I'm sort of split on the look.

I'd look into the BHR ignition set as your first upgrade, makes a lot of difference with the "smoothness" of the pulling of the engine (if that statement makes any sense?).
and the reliability of the BHR coils are excellent!!
