After more than a year of (off & on) searching, I found the one for me! 2005 Shinka, 6-speed, 36k miles, phenomenal condition!

What should I know about this car? What is a rotary engine? What mod should I do first? How do I make it faster? Where can I buy a giant spoiler? Why is my gas mileage bad?

Just kidding. I know exactly what I've gotten myself into. But did I miss any other annoying newbie (read: "intarweb search challenged people") questions? :)

And no, those aren't my plates. I bought the car in Seattle and brought it to Oregon. So, I will order new ones tomorrow. (Although, I'm still undecided what they're gonna say.)

Although, now that I have my eight... I'm not sure what to do with my time on the internet, if I'm no longer searching Craigslist and AutoTrader across four states.

Very pretty! And such low mileage for a 2005! She's still just a baby :)

It looks black in the picture at first glance, but 2005 Shinkas were that Black Cherry color, yes?

Wingznut 07-22-2011 11:40 AM

Yeah, it's black cherry. Kind of changes colors a bit, depending on the lighting... Sometimes black, sometimes brownish, sometimes blushing with a bit of purple. ;)

I bought my 2005 Shinka with 39k miles a few months back. I love this car. Mine has a full exhaust that my local exhaust guy made for me. Dual resonated midpipe, single exit 3" with a 15" Magnaflow straight through muffler. Sounds great. And only cost me $370 for a FULL exhaust vs $600 for a catback. Noticeable difference in power and torque as well. I guess I got lucky.

Welcome! Looks like a great find.

That's a beautiful car with a deep, rich, rare and sophisticated color. Same as mine.
;)
