Finally Did It
I used to have an '80 RX-7 and absolutely fell in love with the rotary engine. I've been drooling over the RX-8 since they first came out in '04. I would see them on the street and in the parking lots and tell myself "one day..."
Today was the day. I just drove home with an '07 MT Sport in Galaxy Gray with 4700 miles. I bought it at a Chrysler dealership and the test drive was hilarious. I of course revved the engine up and drove in low gear. The sales guy was finally like "hey, whoa, don't tear the engine up." I was only doing like 6k RPMs, and had to explain what a rotary engine was. Anyway, I'm happy as a clam. One question: the dealership put their damn logo on the back with that plastic-y white stuff. Any suggestions on safely removing it without damaging the paint? |

Heat to get the vinyl off. Hair dryer will work. Then wd-40 on a rag will take the glue residue the rest of the way off. Congrats! |
LOL
I love how dealers have NO idea what this car is! Welcome. As for the logo--use a heat gun on low heat or a hairdryer to heat it up and it peel's right off. It may leave a little bit of a sticky residue. I used some cleaner wax and polished it right off. Edit: DANG. Too slow again...mac11 beat me to it :) |
does the dealer tag say chrysler or anything on it? lol....

^mine had a nissan logo on it

Congratz and Welcome!

Haha, no, it doesn't say Chrysler, just the name of the dealership and the city.
If it said Chrysler I'd be tempted to keep it for chuckles. Kid: "Hey mister, is that a Dodge Viper?!" Me: "No, it's a Chrysler RX-8" |
Congrats on the car man. Enjoy yourself some rotary.
|
congrats on the marklar, marklar. Enjoy your marklar and welcome to marklar

idk about the heat gun thing. i used rubbing alcohol and cotton balls and it workd good gets the glue off without hurting anything. just peel off the logo and use the alcohol to get the glue off u can use some hot water to loosen the logo and peel it off with ur fingers. thats what i did.
|
wd40 might harm ur clear coat and a ragg can put swirl marks n the paint 100% cotton wont unless u use a rag thats 100% cotton then ur good to go.
|
Hahahaha Chrysler RX-8!
Hey, congratulations on your new sweetheart. |

I use it all the time to peel off decals and such on vehicles at work. Then buff the area. |
Congrats and welcome to the addiction
