Factory Radio Options

1.
I have an 04 RX8 touring, and it appears to be the Bose system since I have the Bose speakers. It has the button for loading CD's but I can't do that. I assume that button is just universal for all radios for that car. Am I right or am I doing something wrong. It plays single CD's only, and skips too, jeeez.

2.
Also, the reception is terrible. Is that normal since there is a window antenna.

3.
I want to get an Ipod adapter but all the posts say my firmware version won't work with the Xlink/ audiolink system. My radio is version 9.53. Now what?

Thanks for any help:fingersx:

I have always thought through my experience that window antennas are "weaker" then a traditional antenna for long range stations (ones almost out of transmission range).

maybe yours is single CD player. if its 6CD it would have a logo.
I found my 6CD has folder stuff printed on the buttons even tho it doest support MP3.

The "Load" button is explicitly for the 6-CD changer (unless someone knows something I don't). The CD drive is modular and can be swapped out with either a 6-CD changer or an MP3-CD player. Kinda makes you wish they made a 6-MP3-CD changer, no?

I am not sure what the firmware requirements are for these modules, but I believe you can have it upgraded by a dealership... at a price for sure.

A while back there was an ebay vendor out there that sold a stock of 6-CD changer modules for nary $100; I bought one of them and have never had a problem with it.
