Theres a TSB for it I think. The dealer can fix it for free as long as youre under warranty.

How many miles do you have and what year, please give us all the info you can on your car. I believe the smog is covered for eight years or eighty thousand miles. Here is the TSB on the gas cap which should have been free.

He says he already replaced the gas cap on the car and that didn't fix anything, granted it is probable but unlikely that he got a second bad gas cap but I would think there would have to be something else amiss here.

The car is a 04 GT MT 56.000 miles....

There is a TSB for a VIN range with bad filler necks that cause an EVAP code. You might fall into that, although I remember it being for '05s. Other than that, it seems to me that you should go to the dealer. Best of luck.

check all your vaccuum hoses on ur intake manifold and anywhere else something mights have gotten knocked off like to the oil filter etc and make sure everythign on the neck or ur fuel tank is ok
