engine trouble light

Got the engine trouble light. bout 38K miles on a 04 MT and looking at past threads on the subject will guess it is the gas cap. Car runs the same.
couldn't find who the sponsor is on this site sells them ?
May run by auto zone or such and see what their code reader says.

Do that first. Otherwise you're shooting in the dark.

Even an 04 with 38K on miles?
didn't think it was a recall but an bulletin or something.

MSP13, which applied to certain 2006 and 2007 models, was a recall. I got a recall notice from my dealer, and it was listed as a recall in my account on the Mazda USA web site. The TSB calls it a "campaign," and there is a sticker to go along with it.

But there are several other TSBs for similar symptoms, going back to '04 models, and they're all covered under warranty. In any event, if you're still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty, Mazda will fix any fault that causes the CEL to come on.
