Long Time Coming - 1st Post
What's up everybody - my name's Paris (yes, I am a guy) - I just wanted to finally come outta the wood work and introduce myself here. I've been logging on to this forum and reading a lot of peoples posts for going on 5 months now. Oddly enough I feel that I've learned a good amount without even saying a word here in the Aftermarket Mod forum - I honestly gotta thank a lot of you that do post there because I feel that I've learned a great deal by just searching and reading everybody's posts...
As you can see by my Sig I have a 06' 6spd AT. What it really doesn't state is that I'm pretty much ready for upgrading now. I've had my 8 for 1 year come June and I have some questions that I unfortunately couldn't find the answers to by meandering around. Hopefully I'll get them answered soon now that i can ask...
Sorry for the long post

wait...so what was the question? I really dont understand why people get irritated over some questions. I see it alot in this forum and i think its just plain childish. But then thats just how the internet is , brings out the real retard in you lol. Oh and congrats on your first post , where in southern cali do you live? And what mods are you planning to get?

I'm really leaning toward getting the S/C from Pettit once it becomes available to the masses towards the end of the year - but i've been debating on going turbo to get the hps gains now - the only draw backs i see with the T/C is the maintenance- i know my way around a car but installing and maintaining turbos kinda makes me weary - I suck with a wrench unless it's throwing it at somebody - that and i heard the lag for the AT really hurts - The s/c offers great every day use, I've been reading a lot of mixed results for the AT though. I honestly want to be looking at the upper 200's with minimal upgrades (intake/pulleys/exhaust/highflow etc.)excluding the S/C and the int-x. I just wanna know if that's possible - if so i'd really like to see some accurate numbers.

^lol , Um for a turbo wouldnt there be huge turbo lag since A/T shifts so much? Supercharger is indeed better for everyday use. Its up to you man , if it was my decision id trade the A/T and get a manual transmission , now THATS an upgrade .

well any type of F/I is going to have drawbacks. the turbo and S/c have there ups and downs. petits S?C seems as of now to be the best thing coming. but you have to be carefull. if the car is your daily driver, you have to take into affect, there may be problems, and the car might be out of comission for a bit. its not like theres a lot of rotary performance shops around. personally i am getting Nitrous. you can get a 55 shot of nitrous very cheaply. the up side is that the engine is not always getting F/I only when the nitrous is on. where as the T/C and S/C they are forcing air into the engine most of the time. nitrouse would be best if you like to race around here and there. the T/C and S/C i would recommend for steady racing.
lots of people have great results with S/C and T/C so to each his own.
but there is a simple idea= F/I=more power=more wear on the moving parts.

wow...Nitrous...those words send a chill down my back - i used to street race (shame on me) but i was put outta commission when I was doing some downhill touge for fun and some idiot locked his brakes next to me and piled me into a tree - the small 50 shot i had was near the passenger door - yeah - after i woke up in the hospital about 5 hours later i kinda made it my thing to not go nitrous til later if ever - thanks for the info though - i know what you mean by the wear and tear - i really wanna get some more info about maintenance on the s/c

I'm actually leaning toward getting an MT in the near future. As of right now im satisfied with my AT 8 - it helps a lot during stop and go traffic going from garden grove to irvine - I still don't know how a simple 14 minute ride turns into an hour long sleep fest...
Oh yeah, that's the other reason i was leaning toward the s/c - the torque dyno graph they posted in the aftermarket forum noted that pettit's sc had the most consistant 'get up' - which i will kinda need to break away from traffic coma
