Engine rebuilt E Spacer and still too tight.

I rebuilt an engine recently and was measuring my end play and it would not move at all, the motor will spin just fine mind you (Not saying that's a reason it should). The spacer was a "C" so I bought a D and E spacer. I decide to jump up 2 and put the E spacer in first and I still can't get any real movement by hand. When I do it stays at the number so I'm assuming it is me moving my dial gauge to .04mm.

I've seen plenty of videos of people using screwdrivers and pry bars on the counterweight to get flex but I'm pretty sure that's not the right way to measure and that it should be done by hand. At least according to the TM.

Any help or advice would be great.

Are you sure if you grab your flywheel and muscle it back and forth you don't hear a slight tick/thud????? You sure you have everything in the stack assembled in the right order??? All the engine bolts torqued to spec?? Front bolt and flywheel torqued to spec???

I have taken my motor apart more times then I care to and I have always had the same end float... It really should not change at all unless something is wrong..... Did it test normal before the rebuilding? (unlikely that you would have on disassembly).

@strokercharged95gt Thanks for replying. To be honest, I'm a little embarrassed as I was going about the measurement the wrong way. For some dumb reason, I thought the test was to see how much play I have on the pully from side to side. This is with the engine facing straight up mind you. I later realized that I'm actually measuring how much play up the engine has up and down...

I was going to delete this thread but didn't see the option. Then I figured I'd leave it to incase someone else isn't thinking clearly like myself at the moment. I officially have .075mm of play which is should be good for our endurance engine.
