engin off

Do I have to rev the engin to approx 4000rpm when turning it off?

There is a lot of debate on that one. I was told by my dealership to do that every time I turn it off. Some people on this forum has said that is only if you are turning the car off cold.

I do it everytime anyway.... I wait 15 seconds, rev it to 3k, turn the ignition off.

your only supposed to do it when u turn it off cold, but even then i wouldnt turn it off cold. just let it warm up. i got the "M" flash which is supposed to correct this, but im not gonna chance it

Um, I just turn off the car...Why does there need to be special shutdown procedures? I turn my car off cold and never have a problem restarting it. Besides, I've always been taught it's not good to heavily rev a cold engine, the oil and water aren't even up to temperature yet.

flooding issues for the 8 that many have had can be avoided by shutting down at 4k rpm supposedly when doing a cold shutdown. M flash is supposedly eliminate dthis need. I just shut the sucker off. Before m flash and after.

I like stepping out of my car while the engine is still turning. Reminds me of how cool it sounds from the outside.

I do it every time just to clear the fuel from the chambers.
