Quickie...
Are cooling fans on their own dedicated CANbus module or are they run off the ECU? Is it possible something that causes modules to drop off the CANbus might've knocked them out?
Might explain some overheating I've had, otherwise. Everything else in the system seems good.
Traced the cause of the intermittent network errors to the OBD dongle I've been using to figure out what was causing the errors, so it's gone to the bin.

most likely reason is that it is in limp mode. Did you check codes?

Stalls when warm. worth buying?
Hello!
i have a completely stupid question I'm hoping to have some experts help me. I'm looking to buy a Rx8 cause its a car i've been wanting for YEARS. i finally see one within my price range but it stalls when its warm. When i look at this car what would you guys recommend me look at to make sure its nothing super major? like is there a way to confirm its not doing this due to compression issues? some issues are ok since im trying to learn, but when i inspect the car how can I make sure it's not a huge major issue causing that problem?
Thank you guys in advanced for your help!

As RotaryMachineRx said, the only way to know compression is to have a compression test done.

I'm back with another dumb question.
I have been trying to troubleshoot my passenger side door speaker not working. The car does in fact have the factory Bose system. I have replaced the relay in the amplifier as a precautionary measure. I am getting power to the speaker, I tested the plug going into the speaker with a lead tester and it illuminated for both pins. No sound comes from the speaker however, the passenger side Tweeter is working just fine however.
I have tried checking the impedance of the passenger side door speaker and wasn't able to get any reading, I check for continuity and I got nothing, when I shake the speaker I can hear what sounds like very small objects loose and moving around. Is it safe to say that the speaker is blown? Do I need to test any other readings at the plug that connects directly into the speaker for anything besides power going to it? Thanks in advance

Hello!
Thanks to you guys I didn't buy that piece of crap and I'm very likely buying a much better quality car this weekend. However I do have a question about premixing after i get it. I was thinking about getting the SOHN adapter. if i do would you guys still recommend me to premix? i heard in a couple youtube videos that the fuel injectors have a wider spray than the oil injectors do, so i was thinking if i do both that's the better way to go ESPECIALLY since im kinda forgetful and would not like to go without quality lubricant in the engine
Would Premixing and the SOHN adapter be too redundant? or would you recommend it having that with a absent minded fool like myself?
Thanks again for all your help.

So yes, I would say there is still some benefits to premixing with SOHN.

If possible id rather err on the side of spending more than decreasing the longevity of the engine.

I'd imagine upping the oil injected in an S1 wouldn't make the spray pattern any more even. It'd fill out the areas that had been lean before, but it'd also over-oil the areas that hadn't had that problem.
If that's correct, then at best, you'll end up blowing some oil right out the exhaust (and into the cat if you still have it); at worst, that excess oil burns poorly and causes deposits.

Car is dark metallic grey but bumper is pearl white.. Will be painting so cover color should not matter. Or guess i could find another bumper . use the washers to fill the holes or try and hook them up?

Speaking of the goo, make sure yours is not expired. When I got my car, the goo had been expired for 5 years. Yep.
The goo is pretty pricey from the dealers, but you can buy any kind of goo from any auto store for a lot cheaper.
That was back when I had the Accord(with a donut, but without a repair kit), and being a dumbass he was, he didn't have the Owner's Manual with him. He ended up having to leave the car in the uni and got it towed the next day.
Just look for a set from an online junkyard.

40th anniversary Edition
I agree, try to source the kit online and/or in this forum. Worth the added piece of mind. My 2008 40th anniversary edition came with the spare tire kit. Haven't had to use it yet, but glad it is there. I additionally always carry a couple of cans of fresh tire goo from a reputable brand, because I am sure the tire goo in the stock kit has expired by now. If it is not sidewall damage, often the tire goo can get you home or to a service shop. Saved a few trips in the past.

Trying to understand the oil circuit. Series 2, if that matters here.
So, downstream of the pump, it splits into two circuits, right? One for the MOPs and one for the engine internals?
I know the oil that circulates through the internals eventually comes back into the sump. What about the oil injected by the MOPs? Does all of it get burned and blown out the exhaust, or does some of it end up back in the sump somehow?
