You can use the string method. That's all I have.

I have a question okay guys when I drive my Rx8 and turn on the air conditioner if I put my left foot on the floor of the driver's side close to the drivers seat but flat to the floor, toes pointing forward, I hear this weird rumbling underneath the car. If I shut off the A/C it goes away. Any idea what the heck that sound is and is it natural. Sorry all I have is a verbal detailed explanation. Thanks.

When I experienced this problem it was the motor mounts. Though a certain level of vibration while the A/C is on is normal.

Reoze Thank you for replying. I am thinking that too but just I know its in that area and its messing with my head so much while the motor mounts are right in the engine bay. This is right under the drivers seat. Its like some motor or something is turning when I turn it on but when I shut it off the sound goes away. Right in that vicinity. The A/C compressor is in the engine bay so its not that either.

While I couldn't say with any confidence it's actually your issue. The vibration/noise I was experiencing did not seem to originate at the motor mount itself. It was more from the shifter/passenger area. Which was one of the major factors in me writing them off for almost 6 months.

Jump starting

Ive never jump started the rx8 before and I'm not sure where to put the negative cable? Probably a really dumb question but after watching videos of what happens when you mess up, I'd rather not take my chance

Always put the negative cable on a solid bare, not painted metal part in the engine bay, away from the battery. DO NOT put the negative cable on the battery's negative post. Doing that can ignite any gases from the battery.

Scooted around trying to find where I read it...

Somewhere here I read? that the temperature limit on the engine is 103C (Or whatever that is is Fahrawayenheit). Is this actually true?

I've also heard 110 bubbled around as the Mazda nominal.

Which one is it?

I don't particularly like going over 100 for some reason - but saw that come up fairly quickly on a trackday today in something like 27-28 weather. Especially late in the day with the car soaked in heat.

I'd say 110+ is where you start rolling the dice, that doesn't necessarily mean you can't ever exceed that number, but I would try to avoid it. 90-103 is a fairly normal. A lot of it depends on the weather and your cooling system though.

110 °C is the upper for normal range - however that only applied if your coolant system is pressurized. Water temperature boiling point is a function of liquid temperature and PRESSURE. If your system is not a target pressure or above all bets are off. A leaking coolant system is not a presure so the temp range decreases close to 100 °C.

Now higher pressure in of itself is not the way to make your system more coolant temperature resistant. The system has a maximum pressure for safe operation of the seals, pump, and hoses. Here's the chart.

Oh BTW this also assumes that your coolant system is bled well - that affects flow and surface area - two other critical parameters.

It didn't boil over - but for the next time, just to know where it can be pushed to without risking it.

I might've been a bit too conservative, but I remembered reading that number somewhere and it stuck in my head.

I have seen the needle move mind - but that was while crawling in second gear no throttle, in traffic with the aircon going full belt.

I also feel like I read that 105° was the maximum because the coolant seal material isn't supposed to be able to take more. It was in a thread here somewhere. Don't think I saw a cited source though.

Mazda considers 110C to be the upper limit of the normal range. As I think they are a bit optimistic, I like to leave some headroom, and keep things below 103C.

Not sure who/how you tried to contact "managememt"....but we are here trying to do what we can. The images that are linked from other sites and not uploaded to the server on this site are totally out of our control. If they no longer exist in the original location they will not show up here when you open the link.

You might have better luck asking specific questions than complaining that we aren't responding to you in the way that you would like

I *think* he's complaining that thumbnails work, but full-sized photos no longer load. I have the same problem, and have tried all 3 browsers at home and at work. This seems to be limited to photos uploaded to the site before the new uploader was installed.

I contacted them for 3 weeks for the reason above ?. The point was the box i clicked on says contact us so dumb me i thought that is exactly what it ment , but after 3 weeks of trying to contact them from the box that says " Contact Us " and writing for 3 weeks i see that the box that says "Contact us " is for what can you asnwer that because i am stumped as to how to contact the management or maybe i missed the real contact us button lol. Maybe you can shed light on how to contact the management and ask about the not being able to view any DIY pic's . It was a use full tool but with out that ability it deminishes the use fullness of the site all together. I wonder why there is a contact us box to click on ?. But to answer your statement of asking sspecific questions , then here is one.....Why is there a "Contact us box " to click on if it doesn't work no matter the problem as people contact management for many rerasons right?. Another specific question...How can i view DIY pic's if i get the box that appears and it says " up date your photo account ?. I do not nor have ever needed an account. It worked up until a few days ago, Maybe you can give some back ground on that ?. Thank you !. Oh one more specific question if i may....Are you management?. It wasn't complaining that you were not responding the way i like but more like you were not responding in any way which is round robin to why is there a "contact us " box to click ?.

The contact us button is in reference to IB iirc. They manage multiple sites and it could take a while for a response.

The members with red name's are Super Moderators, orange is moderator, black is a member and admins are a purple is color at least that's how it's shown on my screen.

Photos loaded from outside sources are not under our control. If they are moved or deleted on the outside sources the links here will not function.
Photos saved to the server not just uploaded will remain active.
IB is constantly updating the site and I'm sure they are working to correct the issue that Steve has mentioned.

Also photos linked from other sites may require you to have an account with them to view said photos.

Answer all your questions there sport?

Travis

I'm not management, but let me try to explain this. Stay with me here.

Let's say I'm the guy who made a DIY thread, and I want to have pics in the thread. One way to do it is to upload the pics to a website like Photobucket. When I do that, Photobucket gives me some code -- a string of text -- that I can paste into my forum post that makes the pics show up in my post. Now, let's say you check out my DIY thread. Whenever you view the thread, RX8Club sees the code I entered and says, "hey Photobucket, I need these pics here." Photobucket then shows the pics in the thread on RX8Club.

It all happens seamlessly, so all YOU see is a thread with some pics on RX8Club. But again, the pics aren't on RX8Club. They're on Photobucket. There's just some wizardry to make the pics from Photobucket show up on RX8Club.

Here's the problem: Every time Photobucket shows a pic on another website like that, it costs them a tiny bit of money. So, if my DIY thread gets a lot of views, they have to make that money back somehow. How can they do that when the service is free? The answer is simple: they'll only let my pics get up to a certain number of views on other sites (e.g. in my DIY thread) for free each month or something. Once I reach that limit, then they'll stop showing the pics for the rest of the month unless I pay them money. Instead, they'll show a little message where the pic should be, to tell me I need to "upgrade my account" (i.e. pay money) so that people can view my pics.

So, there's a limit to how many times a pic on Photobucket can be viewed in a month before whoever uploaded it has to pay.

The reason so many pics have stopped working is that Photobucket recently cut that limit WAY down. They set the limit so low that a LOT of popular threads hit it in the first few days of the month or whatever, so most people will never see the pics unless the people who uploaded them upgrade their accounts. That's why you're seeing that message. It's actually for whoever uploaded the pic, not you.

Now, not all threads are like that. Many have pics that are hosted by other sites besides Photobucket, which don't screw around like Photobucket does. Also, RX8Club now has the ability to upload pics directly, so you don't have to use a 3rd-party site at all if you don't want to. But the threads that still have pics on Photobucket are only going to be viewable a certain number of times before the pics are replaced by the message you saw.

Summary:

1. The message has nothing to do with RX8Club.
2. The message isn't targeted at you.
3. The message comes up because people have their pics on Photobucket, and Photobucket wants THEM to upgrade THEIR accounts so that their pics can be seen more.

Make sense?
