Dreamworld performance gains.
This type of crap drives me nuts.
This stock Rx8 came in for an exhaust upgrade and an ECU flash. The car started at 152HP and finished up with 194HP. That's almost a 30% increase in power and torque. |
wow and that's not even with a cold air intake. :0
|
Yeah well dyno results are easily manipulated.
|
I will have to pull the results, but I got better than 152hp on mine with no upgrades. I would like to know what I can do to gain 42 hp with just an exhaust and flash! ;)
|
Well, if your cat is clogged and your intake is obstructed, you too can see a 30% increase in power in just a few short minutes!!1!

The attached dyno sheet is from a 6-port/6-speed 2008 RX-8 with about 25K miles on it and using a BHR Ignition System as it's only modification (installed well before the dyno test was performed), including still using the factory cat-back exhaust system. Typical rear-wheel horsepower gains were 20-25 rear-wheel horsepower, with additional engine torque being demonstrated as low as 2,000 RPMs, but actual total gains in power are dependent on the age/condition of each engine and the presence of other modifications. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx8...231f2fb407.jpg |
Move the number plate out of the way of the cooling passages! 30% power gain!!!!!!

The final numbers a on the high side of the median even with a tune. Seems Pac dynos give higher numbers.

Ya think?

hey now... c'mon Esmeril laid down 450whp! Who could possibly doubt that!
|
long-lived or storied businesess have MUCH less to prove. It's the new places with wild claims like in that video above which need to prove it. RB doesn't make wild claims so I don't care about the numbers. Numbers. That's what this is - not even data, but numbers.
Racing Beat - and many others - do NOT come up with numbers to sell their product. They sell parts that holistically improve the car's performance by a measure. That measure, however, is based on context by which it was obtained. No company can account for the varying contexts in which their parts are used. |
