Donuts with the 8

So, snow has been falling around my place in canada, and I'm starting to see some empty parking lots ripe for doing some donuts.

I've always had a FWD in the past, and the technique was simple. Drive in reverse up to a certain speed and crank the wheel, then, WEEEEE!

But I was hoping someone could share some sweet RWD donut techniques with me :).

Is there more to it then just hitting the gas and turning left at about 15-20 km/h's? I was doing this and ended up mostly just sliding to the right or sliding to the left.

(Yes, DSC was off (not disabled, but off) before anyone asks)

Youll need to DISABLE DSC, by just pushing the button you disable TCS (Traction) so you can break the tires loose, but the stability control tries to help you out abit.

Also, doughnuts are easier from a standstill. Crank it, THEN accelerate.

hold dsc down for 7 seconds.

turn wheel, smash the gas. spin!

whe hew!

Interior swapped base AT rx8?

04RX8man 11-27-2008 09:58 PM

yeah disable it then try to go from a standstill crank wheel and romp the gas....if you want to try to drift then go into a doughnut you need a little "drive with the accelerator" technique but that just takes practice....drive straight turn wheel and mash the gas get it sideway and either countersteer to stay drifting or keep it turned and go into a d-nut......good luck that's the reason y i miss living where it snows.....

kersh4w 11-27-2008 10:43 PM

whose rx8 is that? i cant believe they let people put donuts all over it. lol.

Jedi54 11-27-2008 10:54 PM

Says the guy from San Jose lol...

Plus I don't know of too many RWD Honda's (not that I would care if there were).

kersh4w 11-28-2008 01:32 PM

i've seen a rwd drag civic.

TopGear8 11-28-2008 01:41 PM

Someone should have learned how to drive before buying a RWD car...

CyberPitz 11-28-2008 06:27 PM

Sure, it's a simple idea to MOST of us, but that's like someone asking how to powerstall and getting the same answers!

At least he has the answer, just needs to do it and get videos!

mulkio 11-28-2008 06:57 PM

I picked up a dozen donuts in the church parking lot on the way to thanksgiving dinner....................

If you put Dunkin' in there, you are just asking for blown Apex Seals.

I like Daylight Donuts, they do the job perfectly.

Wait! Our cars have enough torque to pull of a successful 'donut'???? ;)

kersh4w 11-29-2008 03:15 AM
