Why not drive it around all bumpy and dented and pocket the $9500? Or $8000 or whatever.
My car is worth (?) $19,000 now, and if somebody wanted to cut me a check for half of its value, and it still drove the same, it'd be a no-brainer. -Kabong |

II - DON'T take your car to the Roger Beasley body shop, they did the original repairs last year and really jacked my car up something fierce, at first I thought they did a good job but after having the car back a few days it became apparent to me that the quality of work was bad, plsu when I took it back to have them "warranty" their work, they gave me crap about it, didn't offer a loaner or rental, and charged me 150 bucks that they "forgot" to charge me last time, worst experience ever. My car is now at Sutherland Autobody and they are WORLD's different, their shop and customer service is superior in every way, I will be plugging the shizzle out of them when I get my car back as they are TOP NOTCH. :) |

Here's what you do.
A. Call insurance and file a claim. B. Go to local ice store or somewhere around and order DRY ICE. C. Receive insurance check CHACHING. D. Place dry ice on thin terry cloth and run over dings dents...Hear the "pop pop pop pop" sound of dents being pulled... E. Cash check and enjoy! I don't know if this will work on all the dents but a friend of mine got 1500 for minor hail damage and she just used dry ice to get them all out. Check it out...might save you some money. |
really sorry to hear that man, hopefully youll get a break soon

PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) seems to be your answer. Supposedly, there are only a handful of really skilled guys in this country. I read that they move around tracking hailstorms. Interesting craft. There is a PDR shop here in the New York City area. They do a lot of high end exotic cars. These guys don't have to move around because this is probably the capital of door dings and you know how those Bentley owners get when they discover a door ding.
Try searching for "dent doctor" or "pdr" or "paintless dent removal". No Bondo if you can avoid it. The dry ice method seems credible. Very creative! |

Meh, car repairs - it sucks, but you pay the deductible, go 10 rounds with the body shop and insurance company and get your (used - don't forget it's used now even if you bought new!) car back in pretty good shape. Heck, if it's a few years old and you get new panels or a major respray then you're easily getting the value of the deductible or more. Been there, done that, feel for ya, hope it's the worst thing you face this year. :grouphug: Keep your chin up. :Peace: |
