Don't forget to watch the GT race on speed channel tomorrow at 8:30 PM EST, 5:30 PM PST. I forget sometimes and only see the thread after the fact.

Here's hoping for three in a row!!! Go Team Mazda!!! Good luck to our boys at Speedsource!!! Makes me proud to own an RX8. :)

Yeah, I saw them at Daytona this year and they were awesome (to borrow a word from Jeff Gordon). :evil_laug However, the cars are about as much like an RX-8 as a 787B. But so what, they look and sound awesome (there I go again).

Just to make it clear, the race is at VIR and will be aired same day Saturday at 8:30 PM EDT. Wheee, I'll be on the same track in June.

Saw It!

Great coverage.

Too bad that the lead Porsche decided that it needed that little bit of track being used by the #70 that had just overtaken/passed it. The Porsche got the bad end of that bet, and I don't believe the #70 knew it had been hit until the pits informed him. In-car coverage from the RX doesn't even show a 'jiggle' from the touch.

Speedsource #70 took 2nd behind a Fernsbacher-Loles Porsche. #69 was in 6th place, and then dropped to 11th just before the finish. I am not sure what happened.

That was a BUSY race. If they re-run it, it is worth watching just to see how many Porsches can take themselves out of a race without any help at all, and without touching another car. There are a couple NEAR misses that are absoultely entertaining to watch! And watching a Pontiac act as a lawnmower was pretty good too.

The racing was top notch, although the course looked a little skinny. There were LOTS of cars dropping a wheel or two into the dirt at a lot of places around the course.

The Posrche radiators are sooooo coooll!!! If you have any off track driving like dropping a wheel off the pavement the rad or at least the overflow tank goes BOOM!
Just for the record what do these cars put out HPwise?
I would think that the Porsches are way more powerful than the Rotary.

I'm not sure what the Porsches are putting out, but those RX's are running 20B engines so the hp gap can't much (if any).
