do you have a flame issue too?

I have found that since removing my cat, under hard driving i get flames from the exhaust! Is this just down to over fuel between gearchanges or a fault with the car? Im kinda worried about bore wash if its an over fuel problem....not that the car has any bores as such!

Thank you :)

gfailure 08-02-2012 07:25 AM

Removed the cat a week ago, still no flames but then again not much in the sense of hard driving either yet! Want to get a couple of pics of it shooting flames (soon I hope) cause I got a running joke with some m8s ;)

DarkBrew 08-02-2012 10:16 AM

The Renesis has 6 injectors... two are just for the cat

If you remove the cat what do you think the fuel's gonna do?

True story... LOL

Mr_Pieper 08-02-2012 04:26 PM

Mine doesn't shoot flames...just icicles.

04RX8man 08-02-2012 07:39 PM

monchie 08-02-2012 08:48 PM

That's how you get flames, by removing the catalytic...lol

Razz1 08-02-2012 09:45 PM

Unless you keep posting in every thread, then you can get flamed ^

Rotary-RX8 08-02-2012 10:32 PM

It doesn't happen all the time. The conditions need to be right. Super hot exhaust, high revs, and a snap throttle release. Unless you are passing the cop like you just took 1st place, It shouldn't be a problem

1.3_LittersOfFurry 08-02-2012 11:11 PM

In the video I was already holding it at 4k for about a minute, then started revving.

etzilon 08-02-2012 11:12 PM

According to the people driving behind me, it was a good 8" long flame:

Arca_ex 08-03-2012 12:16 AM

Don't worry, it's just a side effect of being awesome.

Mr_Pieper 08-03-2012 07:20 AM

If you drive by a cop like you just took first place, then please remember he is only mad about getting second.

BHR midpipe laying in my living room.

Mine does big flames on trackdays but only once it has got nice and warm.

It was Miss May for the Rotary Heaven Calendar for 2012.

<<<<<< Not bad.

Hesselrode 08-03-2012 08:55 AM

The dual flames in you pic are awesome. my flames look like a torch flame. SHawn, never knew your flames were that awesome!! Gonna have to have a flame throwing contest sunday!!

Will66 08-03-2012 09:11 AM

The faster you're going the bigger the flame is. I got an enormous one when I had a go on a 2 mile runway on an upshift from 4th to 5th at 9000 rpm, the low pressure behind the car must have sucked the combustible material into it before it ignited and observers reckon I got about a 5 foot flash of flame behind the car.

200.mph 08-03-2012 09:24 AM

never thought speed had anything to do with it. mine are pretty consistant. when i shift at the sweet spot for flames
