Different sound in 5th gear
Hi folks,
I just got my new baby, a Winning Blue sport package, last night. I noticed while driving in home and then to work this morning that the engine makes a different noise when the car is in 5th than any other gear. It's not a big difference, but I can detect kind of a high pitched, uh - hard to describe, noise on acceleration. I do not hear this in 6th or any other gear during acceleration. Usually, the engine sounds like a swarm of angry killer bees! :) But this sound is in addition to the killer bee sound. Has anyone else noticed this or do you know what it might be? Is it normal? I've never driven a rotary before, so I am unsure how it's supposed to sound. |
The ECU may change the port configuration for better cruising or the like in a high gear. Hard to say.
