Basically it's made like that for a reason. You hit something, the plastic screw allows it to break away with relatively little collateral damage. Get a new plastic screw and attach it again. If you hit something bad enough that it needs to be replaced, it's nothing that wouldn't have happened with any other material.

Be happy they designed it this way!
Good point!!

even if you dont hit anything, those fasteners can fall out. you just have to keep an eye on it.

you can also zip tie many of the holes meant for the plastic fasteners to the car. don't ask me how I know.

I never really had a problem with running over stuff. The only time something abnormal happened was when I spotted a dead armadillo in the center of the road. I couldn't swerve because I had my gf and kid in the car and there were cars all around me. THUNK! but I didn't see any damage. My car isn't even lowered.

You bastards.

I have great reflexes.

On a serious note, I've never had this problem with any other car, and avoiding hitting road debris at highways speeds isn't always possible unless you want to sideswipe someone.

i ran into a pole once. i feel that because my car was totaled mazda has a real design flaw. i mean.. why dont they just make the car out of diamond covered titanium so that it would bounce off the poll and let my head take the impact on the steering wheel?

these mazda engineers, they dont know anything!

All cars are have the cheap undertray.

Actually, it would be better if it was a little thicker.

Go to ACE Hardware and buy some bolts with the proper nut and fix it.

Mazda will not "recommend" it.

Mazda knows everything, there is nothing to fix. Everything stays at it is ...

Sorry I was talking to myself ... argh ...
