Dealer Paint protector

Finally got the news that a car is available at a different dealer than I had put a deposit for, so it looks like they will get my business. And I have heard conflicting info on dealer packages for paint, undercoating, and interior protection. I have done alot of digging, and found that you have to be careful with specailty shops when it comes to paint protection. They want to sell me the whole package (undercoating, paint, leather protector etc.) for 960$ CAN. Seems a bit high, but also comes with a lifetime guarantee, with a yearly touch-up visit. Anyone else have something similar.

Protection.....

Broker Guy -

Don't fall for all the 'packing' they try to throw into the deal!

Ziebart does good undercoat/rustproof, for a couple of hundred dollars, if YOU decide to get it....

Leather protection? How do you protect leather? A bottle of '303' U.V. protector (the BEST) is $17 at a place on Yellowhead Trail. Buy your own bottle, go nuts with it, spend the $350 you save on some good wine....

Paint Protection? B.S.. Buy the whole kit of everything Mr. Zaino sells, spend the other $250 on an upgrade to 'Zoomers Stage 2!'

Don't buy the $1000 alarm system, the $400 glass etching, the $200 gold plate on the emblems......you think maybe they will all be unavailable next week?

Buy THE CAR. Ask for a deal where you can get any options at cost....then think about what YOU want.

See you around....

what about Ming in town?
They do the full package. Did you do any paint protector?

ALL the dealer add-ons are crap, and not worth 10% of what they charge you. If you read the fine print on the "paint protector" coatings, you have to come in for a yearly re-application at YOUR expense for the protection warranty to be valid. The reason dealers sell those things is because they're 90% profit - dealers make more money from selling those add-ons and from extended warranty and financing fees than they do from the car!

DO NOT buy or accept any of those add-ons. The paint protection, especially, is a complete scam. A good coat of wax (Zaino, Nu-Finish, Meguiars, whatever) does the same thing.

Gordon

Broker,
Just say no!
Listen to Stealth and Grodo. 303 (water based) is a little known cleaner/protectant. Way better than Amroall IMO.
BTW, they should off you a free RX8 hat/shirt/ calender ect. Try and leave the dealer with something free.
Good Luck
Al
