Dash protector for ignition area

Has anyone made any Carbon Fiber insert for the area right by the ignition where sometimes if you're not careful, it will scratch that part of the dash? Or has anyone heard of anything that can go in that little area to the right of the ignition that can protect it? I am very careful, but I still once in awhile hit it with my keys and rub against the console area or whatever its called. It would be nice if someone made a small 4-5 inch piece of something that can attach over that area and protect it.

Well, just like the carbon fiber inserts for the door panels-this would be good with a small piece with strong adhesive on the back.

You need a 4-5" protector around the ignition so your keys don's hit wrong? Try the old motto, "Don't drink and drive", lol

I guarantee there are quite a few people who accidentally brush their set of keys against the plastic towards the dash area. When starting the ignition, if there are other keys on the key chain or key fob, anyone can scrape the plastic even if you're careful. If one assumes that the car is only driven to work and back and 4 drives on the weekend-then that would approximate to 720 instances where you would have to be perfect without touching the plastic in a year. Over 1,000 a year is probably more accurate. I'm just stating that something there would be nice.

Whatever material was used it would have to be pretty durable. Otherwise you'll be changing it
about as often as the oil.

A thin piece of carbon fiber material would work as long as it was thin enough to be put over the existing plastic and would stay down smooth with strong adhesive.
