Dammit... grease-monkey f'd up my car...
 

I got my new Toyo T1r's at Butler Tire here in Marietta, Atlanta. They had my curbed wheel fixed and I was altogether impressed... until I got in the car and looked around. The headliner (when you're in the driver's seat, look up/left) has a greasy handprint there... I tried some Oxy Clean spray, and it just smeared the grease and made a large "wet spot" which is a dark stain looking thing.

OPTIONS!? What should I do to get rid of this nastiness? :mad: :mad:

Can you take it back & let them sort it out?

Should of stopped the car turned around and went right back to the place instead of trying to clean it yourself. Now your gonna have the classic "Well how do we know it wasnt you?" type of agrument if they decide to be assholes to you. Hopefully they wont, and hopefully they'll say we are sorry and either pay for a new headliner or pay to have it professionaly cleaned. One thing I learned from these boards is anytime you hand your baby over to anyone is to give the car a once over before you leave the parkinglot.

Just take it to a detail shop they should be able to get it out.

CRC Brakleen on a white paper towel. Soak it and let it sort of bleed into the headliner. Careful as it will weaken the glue.

Oxyclean was a major mistake. Over the next year there will be a spot where it fades.

When I went to trade in my c230k on my rx8, the body shop (I had wrecked the MB and hence didn't want to drive around in a badly crashed car) annhilated one of my floormats with nasty heavy shop grease. The shop manager came out with this industrial upholstery cleaner and had it gone almost instantly. I was amazed. I spent hours with regular consumer products on similar stains and was unable to even make a dent. Whatever this stuff was, it stank but it did the job. He said it was a commercial product that was ordered by the case only. He didn't give me a name unfortunately. Point is, a pro detail shop has access to way stronger stuff than the average joe can buy. Chances are they can fix it, and then send the bill to the garage!
