so now im annoyed that it just fell off, i dont know how it came off it seems like the fastener has broke underneath

staticlag 12-16-2007 03:50 PM

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?

Spinning Sushi 12-16-2007 03:52 PM

It snaps right on. Just push on it.

A.Mair 12-16-2007 03:52 PM

nope i dont have an aftermarket exhaust.

as for snapping it back on a part of it is broke underneath so i cant

8rotor8 12-16-2007 04:04 PM

If you dont have and aftermarket exhaust, just go to the dealer and tell them it's loose and they'll let you know if they can cover it or not. It never hurts to ask, and they don't charge you to tel you yes or no.

Gorilla glue that b!tch. It will take time. Its not like super glue but it will hold up under all conditions :)

chetrickerman 12-16-2007 04:27 PM

same thing happened to me.i guess i will try to take it to a dealer

Mugatu 12-16-2007 04:36 PM

are you sure you didn't back into something? is there any visible damage on the bumper at all? if not, then I'd say you have a valid case for warranty coverage.

A.Mair 12-16-2007 04:45 PM

no i think that the stupid valet did it, cus when i got back after valeting my car i noticed scratches all on my side in the bright area in a car park. I didnt notice when i got my car because it was so dark

BigRed 12-16-2007 04:54 PM

there is your problem...dont every valet your car

chetrickerman 12-16-2007 04:58 PM

i know i didnt back into something. no scratches, just popped out

DOMINION 12-16-2007 05:20 PM

^Same here.

A.Mair 12-16-2007 05:22 PM

How much is the mazda speed bumper

DOMINION 12-16-2007 05:26 PM

I want to say $1,200.00

A.Mair 12-16-2007 08:09 PM

oh damn!

any other decent bumpers at a good price

8rotor8 12-16-2007 08:15 PM

it's only $700 for the rear, $1200 is the front. But the MS rear you still need those exhaust flange thing attached.

No. They are removed.

And to the OP, is a warranty item as long as noone backed into something.

8rotor8 12-16-2007 09:01 PM

Ahh... you are correct sir! just that middle part stays on and that need to be cut.

A.Mair 12-16-2007 09:33 PM

mazdaspeed bumper sounds good right now.

valpac 12-16-2007 10:13 PM

kinda expensive fix dontcha think?

A.Mair 12-16-2007 10:41 PM

lol oh no i would like to get a new bumper anyway but this is a good excuse to do so. I am getting the knight sports kit so i am thinking the mazda speed bumper will look good with it

valpac 12-17-2007 08:37 AM

you do realize its not a whole bumper but a diffuser that attaches to your existing bumper? (with some cutting of the original)

as far as looking good, i think it does.

i really dont see a problem here...:squint:

just say that "one day you got up for work, went out to get into your car, and lo' and behold, a piece of your bumper came loose! and mention that by the way...you are a respectably-safe driver, pay your taxes, and have a social security number!"

the same thing happened to me with the bottom of my front bumper...except that it was clearly obvious that the damage was due to my going too fast over speed bumps and other steep inclines. even though thats clearly my fault (and therefore not eligible to be covered under warranty), all i had to do was be nice to my mechanic :) and they just put it back together for me.

oh and i also mentioned i pay my taxes
